Meet Duck Team 6 Street Dog Rescue
From One Stray Dog to Hundreds of Lives Changed
Duck Team 6 (DT6) began in Dallas, Texas in 2010 with one frightened stray dog living along the side of a busy highway. After weeks of rescue attempts, a small group of experienced volunteers worked together to safely capture her. They named her Alley after the alley where she was finally rescued. Alley was later adopted into a loving home — and that rescue sparked something much bigger.
Around that same time, someone jokingly compared the rescue team to “Seal Team 6,” except less tactical and more like ducks. The name Duck Team 6 stuck, along with their motto: Semper Woof
What started as a handful of volunteers helping street dogs quickly grew into a mission-driven nonprofit. In 2012, DT6 officially became a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reducing the street dog population through rescue, placement, and community outreach.

What DT6 Does
Duck Team 6 specializes in one of the hardest parts of animal rescue: safely capturing scared, abandoned, and stray dogs that don’t trust humans.
Their volunteer team uses patience, strategy, and specialized equipment to rescue dogs many others cannot reach. Since founding, DT6 has helped facilitate more than 1,500 dog rescues across the Dallas area.
Every member of DT6 is a volunteer. No one is paid, every donation goes directly toward helping dogs in need.
Why Their Work Matters
Dallas has faced a serious stray dog crisis for years, especially in under-served communities with limited rescue resources. DT6 stepped in to fill a critical gap by providing organized, skilled street-dog capture operations.
Their work has become an essential part of the solution for homeless dogs across the city.
